Your bio is often the only text a brand reads before deciding to look further. It should be short, specific and easy to scan. Here is a formula that works for creators, influencers and models.
The three-part formula
- What you do. Your role and your niche, in plain words.
- Who it is for. The type of brand or project you work best with.
- Why you. A strength, a style or a result that makes you a safe choice.
Finish with how you like to work (for example, fast replies or clear timelines) if there is room.
Example bios to adapt
These are examples to inspire you. Write your own in your own voice.
UGC creator: "I create natural, well-lit product videos for beauty and skincare brands. I keep scripts simple, deliver on time, and include one free revision."
Model: "Commercial and lifestyle model based in Cairo. Comfortable on camera and on set, quick to take direction, and available for both photo and video work."
Food reviewer: "I film honest restaurant and recipe reviews that help people decide where to eat. I focus on clear audio, appetising shots and straightforward opinions."
Write for a skimming reader
Brands read dozens of profiles. Use short sentences, put the key point first and avoid long paragraphs. Three or four lines are enough.
Be specific
Replace general words with details:
- Instead of "creative", say what you create
- Instead of "professional", mention turnaround time or revisions
- Instead of "many brands", name the type of brands or the results
Match your tone to your work
A playful tone suits a lifestyle creator. A calm, clear tone may suit a corporate brief. Your bio should sound like the content you make.
Mistakes to avoid
- Writing only about yourself and never about what you can do for a brand
- Copying someone else's bio
- Stuffing in keywords. Write naturally and let your profile do the work
- Leaving spelling mistakes in the first thing a brand reads
Keep it fresh
Update your bio when your focus, results or availability change. Pair it with a strong portfolio, and avoid the common profile mistakes.
